The White House

HOW TO TAKE PROFESSIONAL REAL ESTATE PHOTOS

What do you need to do?

Prior to and day of the shoot:

1.   Remove personal items like family photos.

2.   Declutter as much as possible. We want people to look at the home, not the home owner’s belongings.

3.   Remove any vehicles from the driveway and park a couple of doors down from your home.

4.   Remove rubbish bins from the front of the house.

5.   Open all your curtains and blinds to let in as much natural light as possible.

6.   Turn on all lights, including bedside lamps. Make sure all globes are matching and working. For a twilight shoot, please turn on all inside AND outside lights.

7.   Remove clutter from kitchen countertops. This includes plates, bowls, cups, paper towels, tea towels etc.

8.   Clear all fridge magnets.

9.   Pack away all personal bath products (soap, hair products, razors, toilet rolls, scales, air fresheners etc).

10. Ensure your beds are made & dressed with throws and cushions.

11. Pot plants and flowers inside that are discoloured and wilting need to be removed.

12. Remove any unattractive plants from backyards, patios/decks etc.

13. Clean Windows. Dirty windows covered in dust, cobwebs or salt DO show up in photos.

14. Ensure the garden and lawns are well manicured and weed free.

15. Spring clean the property inside and out.

Last minute check:

1.   The cars and rubbish bins are not in the driveway.

2.   All lights are on, and curtains or blinds are open.

3.   Kitchen benches are clear of clutter. No soaps, sponges, etc., around the sink. No tea towels hanging on the oven.

4.   There is no visible rubbish inside the house.

5.   No fridge magnets on the fridge.

6.   All toiletries are gone from the shower cubicle and around the sinks.

7.   Pet bowls and toys are packed away.

8.   Consider the ambience of the property making a welcoming atmosphere.

Bare walls do not appeal, clutter is a distraction.

9.   Add some plants, set the dining table, the outdoor table, add some fresh flowers, a bowl of fruit, books on bedside tables and magazines on the coffee table.

Many thanks for considering being part of our journey.

Kind regards,
